Student Housing Management realizes the need to generate additional funds wherever possible through the utilization of its facilities and therefore has instituted a vacation accommodation program that rents out the facilities to Holiday Makers, Sport people, and Groups during the winter and summer recess periods.

During this period most residence students vacate their residences and go home for the holidays. Students staying behind for any academic-related matter are charged daily vacation accommodation rates.

Residence Allocation

A student who has been admitted to live on campus cannot automatically demand that a certain room in a particular residence be assigned to them. The university has the right to assign a student a room.

In allocating rooms the following shall be taken into account:

First-year students will preferably be assigned to homes on campus, where they will be given double rooms. If expert advice, such as that provided by doctors and/or counselors, points in the opposite direction, that advice will be taken into consideration when choosing rooms. Graduate and postgraduate students should ideally receive single rooms.
