ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Undergraduate
Applicants must fulfill the following eligibility conditions in order to be admitted to degree-granting programs:
Applicants with a South African National Senior Certificate (NSC) must pass a minimum of four topics in any four 20-credit NSC subjects with a level of 4 (Adequate Achievement, 50-59%) or better. Senior Certificate holders from South Africa require matriculation endorsement. Please consult the Prospectus for further details on the criteria for undergraduate degrees.
Postgraduate
Each program has its own standards for admission to postgraduate study. To learn the requirements for the course or degree you want to pursue, you are suggested to immediately contact the relevant Faculty Prospectuses.
Student Selection and admissions process
- Download the application forms or collect them from the Students Registration Office.
- These are completed and returned to the Students Registration Office and get sorted per-Faculty.
- Then the faculty selection committee (Deputy Dean: Teaching and Learning, Faculty Manager, HODs, and Administrators) convenes to do the selection.
- Admission is done on merit, using the Swedish point system (High scores are considered first in chronological order)
- For interview programs, students are invited for presentations prior to selection *
- The current metrics are provisionally accepted pending their matric final results and availability for admission into programs, plus NBT results
- The application forms are checked and signed by the Faculty Manager according to the admission status.
- Once the forms are signed, they are given back to the Students Registration Office to capture the status which is then communicated to the students as backup.
- The Faculty keeps records of the accepted students as backup. Wait-listed students are considered after registration of accepted students
- Accepted students get a notification from the Students Registration Office.
New Students-Online Application Process
- Meeting entry requirements and submit your application together with all required paperwork
- Your application’s progress will be communicated to you through SMS, followed by a letter of confirmation.
- Current matriculants are provisionally admitted pending the receipt of their final matric results and subject to space availability if they meet the requirements based on their performance in Grade 12 at the midterm.
- The registration guide, which includes the registration dates and orientation schedule, will also be sent to successful applicants along with an SMS, an admissions letter, and other materials.
