The University of Cape Town (UCT) graduation ceremony is a remarkable and historic occasion that honors students’ success and academic accomplishments. WHAT YOU NEED TO DO
Check Your Academic Record
Make sure your credentials, area of expertise, honors, and dissertation/thesis titles accurately reflect your background. If not, urgently get in touch with your faculty office. END DATE: FEBRUARY 20, 2024
Verify your name is spelled correctly in UCT’s records.
Your complete name must be on your qualification paperwork exactly as it appears on your ID or passport at the time of graduation. Need anything fixed? By 20 FEBRUARY 2024, send a certified copy of your passport or other form of identification via email to the student records office along with a note.
Verify that all outstanding fees, fines, and taxes have been paid.
The deadline for all unpaid invoices was January 31, 2024. There is no certainty that qualifiers who owed fees, fines, interest, or other obligations as of January 31, 2024, would get their degrees, certificates, or diplomas in March, and their names won’t appear in the graduation ceremony.
If you have any questions about your fee account, please get in touch with the fees office. Students receiving financial aid should contact the financial aid office with any questions.
Resolve Your University Court Matter
You will not be permitted to graduate in March if, as of 20 FEBRUARY 2024, you have an unresolved disciplinary case before the Student Disciplinary Tribunal, an unpaid fine, and/or community service that needs to be completed. Send any questions regarding discipline to CA Pearce.
UCT celebrates March 2024 graduates
15 graduation ceremonies were held at the University of Cape Town (UCT) from Tuesday, March 27, to Saturday, March 31, 2024.
For those who couldn’t attend in person, all of the ceremonies were broadcast live on the UCT news website and through the university’s Facebook and Twitter feeds. Both the university’s YouTube channel and the UCT news website include video archives of the ceremonies.
