Education qualifications for the 2024 academic year

From 2024, the College of Education will offer the Advanced Diploma Education in Intermediate Phase Mathematics Teaching, which is an interesting new award. In preparation for applications for the 2024 academic year, more information about this certification will be published on the Unisa website starting in August 2023.

The College regrets to notify you that the following education qualifications will not be accessible for new students in 2023 due to external events beyond the university’s control:

  • Postgraduate Certificate in Education (Senior and FET Phase)
  • Honours Bachelor of Education
  • Additional Postgraduate Diploma in Education streams

The following two qualifications have been discontinued and will no longer be offered:

  • Postgraduate Certificate in Education (Foundation Phase)
  • Postgraduate Certificate in Education (Intermediate Phase)

The following new and improved qualifications were introduced in 2022:

  • Higher Certificate in Education
  • BEd (Foundation Phase)
  • BEd (Intermediate Phase)
  • BEd (Senior and FET Phase)
  • Postgraduate Diploma in Inclusive Education
