In terms of enrollment, the University Of South Africa (UNISA), usually known as Unisa, is South Africa’s largest university system. It enrols one-third of all South African students in higher education. UNISA is one of the world’s major universities, with over 400,000 students, including international students from 130 countries, making it the only one in Africa.
As a complete university, Unisa offers both vocational and academic programmes, many of which have obtained international accreditation, as well as a large geographic footprint, allowing students to be recognised and employable in a variety of nations.
Unisa, as one of the world’s mega-universities, provides academic services to both traditional and technology universities. These include, for example, a mix of job-focused bachelor’s programmes offered by technical institutions and formative academic programmes offered by traditional colleges.
