The University of South Africa, or Unisa, is the country’s largest university system in terms of enrollment. It enrolls a third of all South African students in higher education.

The Second Semester Application Date:

From August 20 until September 27, 2023, Unisa will accept applications for undergraduate credentials (higher certificates, advanced certificates, diplomas, advanced diplomas, BTech & degrees) for the 2024 academic year.

Honors degrees & postgraduate diplomas: 20 August – 27 September 2023
Master’s & doctoral qualifications: 10 September – 8 November 2023

To accept or decline Unisa’s offer or check your application status, go to www.unisa.ac.za/accept the offer
They are currently processing applications, so please do not inquire about the status of your application before June 10, 2023.

The registration process for Unisa Second Semester Application
In a few days, second-semester registration will open; here are some simple measures to follow if you’ll be registering online:
• Go to the Unisa registration website: http://registration.unisa.ac.za/
• Enter your student number in the block provided and other details required. (If you don’t have a student number you won’t be able to continue; you’ll need to apply for a student number during the next application period.)
• Check your personal details on the screen. Change any contact details that are missing or incorrect.
• Enter the modules you want to register for using the drop-down menu. You must meet all the pre-requisites and co-requisites for the selected module
• select the correct semester (1 = first semester; 2 = second semester). Do not exceed the prescribed number of modules per semester or year, as your registration will not be processed.
• Choose your study pack delivery option (by courier preferably).
• Calculate your fees: Go to http://www.unisa.ac.za/feequote to obtain a quote for the cost of your modules. Note the minimum fee that must be paid before Unisa will process your registration. If these fees are more than you can afford, delete modules until you can afford the fees.
• You can make payment online, using a credit card at http://www.unisa.ac.za/feepayment.
• If you don’t have a credit card, you can pay at Standard Bank. Retain your proof of payment in case of inquiries.
• Submit your registration and wait for confirmation.
Unisa Application for Second Semester 2024
Unisa courses are full
Unisa has declared that many of its courses have reached their maximum enrollment capacity. As a result, applications and registrations for these courses will not be accepted in the second semester. Unisa Undergraduate Application Opening Date for 2024 Second Semester

  • Higher Certificate: Law
  • Higher Certificate: ABET
  • BA Degree
  • Diploma in Tourism Management
  • B.Ed Senior and FET Phases
  • National Diploma: Management
  • Higher Certificate in Criminal Justice
  • LLB (Law)

How to apply at Unisa

  • You may apply for a maximum of two qualifications, ranked in order of preference (although you may only register for one should both of your qualifications be successful).
  • Unisa will inform you of the outcome of your application. If successful, Unisa will indicate for which qualification you have been accepted and will offer you a space for the period for which you have applied (ie semester 1).
  • You must accept or decline Unisa’s offer within the prescribed period of time. If you miss this deadline, Unisa will withdraw the offer and give your space to another applicant.           Unisa Tvet College Online Application 2024
  • First-time applicants to Unisa will be required to complete the First-Year Experience (FYE) MOOC (massive open online course) before being able to accept Unisa’s offer.
  • You may only accept one offer. This means that when you accept an offer for one qualification (irrespective of whether it is your first or second qualification of choice), the other offer will automatically fall away. Unisa Undergraduate Application Opening Date for 2024 Second Semester
  • If you accept Unisa’s offer, you must register for the period for which you have been granted admission. Should you not register for the relevant semester of study, you will need to re-apply for admission during the next application period.
