The University Of Cape Town Application Form

The application to the University of Cape Town (UCT) is the first step toward receiving a top-notch education and becoming a member of the prestigious UCT community. With the help of this thorough application form, UCT’s admissions staff will be able to gather crucial data on potential students and determine whether they are qualified for the required programs. The UCT application form is the initial stage in the admissions procedure and gives applicants a chance to highlight their academic success, character traits, and career goals.
Applicants are required to provide information on their contact information, citizenship status, academic qualifications, and previous educational institutions they have attended throughout the application form. Candidates may also need to specify their program preferences by choosing the precise undergraduate or graduate degree at UCT that they want to enroll in.

When to apply
Applications for admission to UCT’s undergraduate programs beginning in 2024 are accepted starting on 3 April 2023 and ending on 31 July 2023. As soon as you can, please attempt to submit your application. Late applications are not taken into account.

An annual UCT Open Day is held for candidates who want additional details before submitting an application. It is aimed at high school students in Grades 10, 11, and 12, as well as their families and teachers. This year’s UCT Open Day will take place on Saturday, May 13, 2023, from 10:00 to 15:00.

Application Fees

An application fee must be paid for every application. UCT students and graduates, as well as Semester Study Abroad (SSA) applicants, are exempt from the application fee unless applying to a Graduate School of Business (GSB) program. Please refer to the fee structure for more information.

Submitting results and documents

All exam results from Grade 11 through September of Grade 12 must be sent in by currently enrolled students. Delays could occur if these results are not submitted. All transcripts and academic documents for transferring students should be turned in as soon as possible.

Undergraduate applicants must send their documents to admissions-ug@uct.ac.za, and postgraduate applicants must send them to admissions-pg@uct.ac.za. Sending your contributions to both email addresses will simply delay the processing of your application, so kindly refrain from doing so.
Apply online

All postgraduate applicants must apply online. Visit http://applyonline.uct.ac.za/ to begin your application before the deadline date.

The Directions for Postgraduate Applications document can help guide you through this process.

You must make a new account if you are a first-time user of the UCT online admissions website. Having a working email address that is not shared with another UCT candidate and that you routinely check is the only prerequisite for making a new account.

Monitor your application

When we update your application, you will receive an email communication. Please monitor your email account closely for updates.
