ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR BACHELOR’S DEGREES
SHC B1 The BCur (007) and BNSA01 Programme
Minimum Admission Requirements
For practical reasons, a limited number of applicants can be admitted to the degree program. A Selection Committee, therefore, selects students on merit.
An applicant for the B Cur/BNSA01 program must have
- a National Senior Certificate endorsed for bachelor’s degree study (or equivalent school leaving certificate with a full Exemption certificate.
- an APS of at least 26;
- passed in the following subjects at the following, or better levels of achievement
SHC B3 BACHELOR OF OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY DEGREE PROGRAMME BOTA01
Selection and Admission Requirements
- Students are selected on merit by a Selection Committee and notified accordingly by the Office of the
- Students with a Bachelor’s Health Sciences degree or a BSc qualification will be considered for selection if they meet the minimum
- Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences students who are changing from other degree programs will be selected on their academic
- Students with foreign qualifications must submit their documentation to SAQA for Certificates of equivalence must be submitted to the University with their application.

In addition to the University Rules relating to selection and admission, English must be at a minimum of 4 and Life Orientation at a minimum of 3.

For practical reasons, only a limited number of applicants shall be admitted to the degree program. Students are selected on merit by an SHCS Selection Committee
The General Rules apply. A candidate must comply with the conditions and meet the selection criteria as determined by the Department. The following minimum selection criteria will be followed:

Application Procedure and Requirements
Application Procedure and Requirements for study visa
- An application form obtainable from home affairs,
- A valid passport (for a year or more),
- Admission letter from the University,
- A letter from the institution in support of your study visa (International office),
- Bank statement – Copy of passport or I.D of parent or guardian responsible for the financial support and a supporting letter,
- A study visa fee of R425-00,
- Proof of medical aid cover confirming that you will be covered while in SA. Medical reports (including Radiology & Pathology).
- A police clearance certificate from your country of origin,
- Repatriation fee of R585-00,
- Copy of yellow fever vaccination (If relevant),
- If the applicant is under 21 years old, there should be a letter of consent from a parent or guardian
