Open Distance e-Learning (ODeL) is a different way of learning
ODeL is a unique style of studying because you are separated from your university by a physical barrier. For the most part, this means that our prior learning experiences will not have adequately prepared us for our time at Unisa. YOU are in charge of arranging your studies and efficiently managing your time in open-distance e-learning. You don’t go to class every day. You study at a distance and communicate with the institution primarily over the Internet. It’s especially important to consider the adjustments you’ll need to make to be a successful Unisa student if you earned your previous qualifications at a residential institution. This does not, however, imply that you are on your own. Our students have access to a variety of support services at Unisa, including tutorial assistance and counseling, as well as online tools. The “distance” in open distance e-learning refers to the fact that the majority of your interactions with Unisa will take place through the Internet.
