Admission Requirements
Based on a point total determined from the top five subjects the prospective student presented, each faculty sets admission requirements. Some departments also conduct a required admission test in addition to the points system. Due to space restrictions, not all applicants who match the requirements can be accepted. The most qualified candidates and those that listed MUT as their top or second option during the application process are given priority.
- National Senior Certificate with a diploma pass or N3 with a 50% pass in Mathematics and English
- A minimum of 5 subjects with level 4 pass for diploma study and level 3 for Access Courses
- English Home Language or First Additional Language, level 4 pass
- Specific subject combination and pass level relevant to the qualification
- Minimum points as per faculty requirement and as listed on the CAO handbook

MUT General Admission Requirements
Each faculty sets entry standards based on a point total computed from the top six subjects the prospective student has presented. In addition to the points system, certain departments require applicants to take an entrance exam. Due to a shortage of available spots, not all applicants who match the minimum qualifications can be accepted. The most competent candidates and those that chose MUT as their first or second choice are given priority during the selection process.

- National Senior Certificate with a diploma pass or N3 with 50% pass in Mathematics and English;
- A minimum of six subjects with a level 4 pass for Diploma study and level 3 for Access Courses;
