The Cape Peninsula University of Technology has a long and illustrious history. The Cape Technikon and Peninsula Technikon combined on January 1, 2005, to form the Cape Peninsula University of Technology. This merger was part of a larger national shift that changed the face of higher education in South Africa.

Today, it is the sole university of technology in the Western Cape and the region’s largest university, with over 30 000 students, many campuses and service points, and more than 70 programmes. The Cape Technikon and Peninsula Technikon, which date back to the early 1900s, were the institution’s humble origins.

The vision of CPUT is to be the Africa’s foremost Smart University of Technology, with graduates who construct a better world for humanity. The objective of CPUT is to transform its students through world-class researchers who encourage cutting-edge knowledge production and innovation.

Submitting of Results and Documents:

All examination results from Grade 11 to September of Grade 12 must be submitted by school students. Failure to do so may cause delays in the application process for the student. You may discover that you applied in Grade 12 but merely submitted your final Grade 11 results. If this is the case, continue to transmit your results to UCT as the year goes, so that they have all of your results by the time finals roll around.
Transfer students should also make sure that all transcripts and academic records are provided as soon as possible, and that a final transcript of current studies is received by the Admissions Office as soon as possible.

Application Fees:

Before their application form can be processed, applicants must pay a R100 application fee. All applicants must attach a copy of their proof of payment to their application form and maintain the original proof of payment in case something goes wrong. CPUT Online Application 2023 Prospectus
