About FoodBev SETA

FoodBev is a Sector Education and Training Authorities (SETA’s) organization that serves the Food and Beverage Manufacturing industry.
FoodBev SETA is subdivided into 5 chambers namely:

  1. Baking, Cereals, Confectionary & Snacks (BCCS)
  2. Beverage Manufacturing
  3. Dairy Manufacturing
  4. Manufacture of Food Preparation Products
  5. Processed and Preserved Meat, Fish, Fruit and Vegetables

FoodBev SETA Bursaries

FoodBev SETA awards bursaries for critical fields and scarce skills based on the food and beverages manufacturing sector. FoodBev bursary accepts application from students who are registered at Higher Education Institutions in the following fields such as Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Materials and Marine), Food and Nutrition (Consumer Science, Food Science, Food Technology and Food Production Management), Commerce (Accounting, Marketing and Finance), Human Resource (Industrial Psychology and Human Resource Management) as well General fields (Production, Management, Packaging Management, Operation Management, Environmental Science and Chemistry/ Biotechnology/Microbiology)

Bursary Requirements and Eligibility

  • Full time students registered at an accredited university
  • Excellent academic record
  • Proven financial need
  • Female applicants, person with disability or applicants from previously disadvantaged background will be given special consideration
  • NOT a recipient of any other bursary

How to Apply and Application Details

  1. Download and complete the FoodBev SETA bursary application form
  2. Accompany application forms with all supporting documents such as:
    • Certified copy of South African ID
    • Certified copy of National Senior Certificate or equivalent, with academic record
    • Proof of registration with the applicable institution
    • Account indicating the full amount for tuition fees from the Higher Education Institution
    • Sworn affidavit that the applicant is not a recipient of other bursary programs
  3. Applications and supporting documents may be submitted via any one of the following methods:
    • E-mail to bursaries2016@foodbev.co.za
    • Hand carrried to 13 Autumn Street, Rivonia, 2128

Successful applicants will be notified of the result of their application on the month of March.
