E-tutor Unisa 2024/2025: Unisa E-tutor online application 2024

The University of South Africa, or Unisa, is the country’s largest university system in terms of enrollment. It attracts one-third of South Africa’s college students.

UNISA is South Africa’s only governmental financing organisation dedicated to distance learning.

South Africa University (or Unija, as it is commonly known) was founded in 1873 as the University of Cape of Good Hope and has spent the majority of its history as an examination agency for the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge, as well as the Incubator of which most other universities in South Africa descend. In 1946, the university was granted a new duty as a distance education university, and it now provides certificate courses, diplomas, and doctoral titles.

The university is seeking online tutors (e-tutors) to apply for services under an independent contractor in order to fulfil its objective as a comprehensive, open, and distance learning school offering a variety of major academic and professional courses.

E-Tutors will have the following duties:
1. Facilitate online delivery of tutorial material
2. Manage students’ learning experiences online
3. Facilitate students’ interactions with their peers online
4. Provide students with academic and technical support online
E-Tutors must meet the following requirements:
* Ongoing access to an internet-connected computer
* Minimum of an Honours Bachelor’s degree in the subject that you would like to tutor (in some disciplines a Bachelor’s degree will be acceptable) at your own cost.
* Own copies of software packages that may be required for teaching e.g. Internet browsers, Word
* Basic computer and internet skills i.e. no training will be provided in using software packages, Internet sites or email.
* Commitment to meeting deadlines and a passion for student-centred learning.
* Advanced communication skills and proficiency in English (student communication will mostly be text-based writing by email, forums or assignment feedback documents).
