The Faculty’s eight academic departments are spread across its three campuses, and they collectively offer 13 programs of study. The Wellington Campus is home to the Department of Agriculture and Agricultural Management, while the Bellville Campus houses the Departments of Analytical Chemistry, Food Science & Technology, Horticulture, Landscape Architecture, and Mathematical Sciences. The D6 Campus is home to the Departments of Biotechnology, Consumer Science-Food and Nutrition, Environmental Health, Environmental Management, Marine Science, and Nature Conservation. Over 3 500 students are enrolled in these programs overall.

As a faculty, they provide a wide range of postgraduate degrees up to the doctoral level in addition to undergraduate degrees. The Faculty has several Research & Innovation entities, including the Agrifood Technology Station, the Center for Sustainable Oceans, and Research Groups in the areas of Bioresource Engineering (in partnership with the Faculty of Engineering and the Built Environment), Functional Foods Research, Environmental Chemistry, Toxicology & R&D. They have a strong commitment to research and innovation. CPUT
