Other Academic Programmes
ATS is undergoing major changes with the purpose of enhancing the teaching and learning experience of all our students.
These changes affect all the ATS sectors: our undergraduate programs as well as our post-graduate programs. It also affects a heightened improvement of the administration, whereby students will be able to access online important information such as assessment results access, financial statements, and many more. Our library service will also be expanded to be more accessible online. Learning material is made more user-friendly, especially with our distance learners in mind. Excellence is our mission, and this is the driving force behind the restructuring of ATS! For any inquiries regarding ATS or our study programs, please contact the registrar. A new ATS for a new generation of students!
Undergraduate Degrees
Bachelor of Theology (BTh)
Auckland Park Theological Seminary’s Bachelor of Theology is accredited and comprises the six theological disciplines plus one (or both) of the two Biblical languages, Hebrew or Greek.
Diplomas
Diploma in Theology
The diploma comprises six theological disciplines and is divided into first and second-semester modules.
Higher Certificates
A Higher Certificate differs from a Vocational Certificate in that the Higher Certificate is an NQF2 Level 5 program, registered by the Department of Higher Education and Training and by SAQA, and is presented on the Higher Education band.
The Higher Certificate carries a weight of 120 credits and leads to further academic studies (Diploma in Theology or Bachelor of Theology (BTh) degree) in the Higher Education band.
Admission
Vocational certificate programs are internal, self-improvement initiatives designed to help persons working in ministry. There are no minimal prerequisites for admission. These occupational certificate programs are therefore non-credit bearing, even though South Africa does allow for non-credit bearing recognition of prior learning (often known as “RPL” for short).
How to apply
Check the available occupational certificate programs to find the one that best suits your needs. But if you need additional details before choosing, you can get in touch with the administration department, where you’ll get help selecting wisely.
Fill out the online application. However, if you are unable to submit an online application, you may get in touch with the Administration Department and ask for a hard copy (paper) application form to be mailed to you.
An automatic email will be sent to applicants who use the online system to confirm their submission. Please be aware that submission confirmation does not equate to registration confirmation. When the administration department has finished processing your application, they will get in touch with you. They value your interest in ATS and await the receipt of your application.
