THE FOLLOWING MUST BE SUBMITTED WITH YOUR FORM:

  • Certified copy of South African identity document.
  • Certified copy of final Grade 11 or any Grade 12 results.
  • Application Fee of R100 (non-refundable). Application forms without payment receipts won’t be taken into consideration. NB: For applications sent by mail, only bank deposits (ABSA Bank – account no. 530 861 945; branch code 632005; reference: your identity number), postal orders, or bank-guaranteed checks made payable to the Vaal University of Technology will be accepted as forms of payment. No cash should be included with your application.

Application Fee Payment

NB: In the case of applications submitted by mail, payments will be accepted by bank deposit only. Use your ID number as the reference. Postal orders or bank-guaranteed cheques must be made out to the Vaal University of Technology. No cash should accompany your application form.

The fee changes annually so please consult the admissions office at +27 (0)16 950 9356 to determine the correct amount.

Procedure for Application for Admission:

If a current or prospective student wants housing at the VUT dormitories for the upcoming academic year, they must submit an application on the required form. For students applying to be admitted to a residence in the second semester, the application must be received by the university no later than May 15 of that semester, and for those applying to reside in the first semester, no later than August 30 of the year prior to the intended year of study. Every year, applications for admission to the residence are taken into consideration. Students who dwell on campus must submit an application for re-admission the following year.

Only students who are seeking admission to the university to be registered as full-time or part-time students and are eligible to be registered as such may apply for admission to the residence.
