Acceptance into AFDA programs requires a certified copy of a SAQA Certificate of Evaluation of the applicant’s international qualifications. This certificate was issued by SAQA (www.saqa.org.za), the South African Qualifications Authority. According to the NQF Act, 67 of 2008, SAQA is required to “provide an evaluation and advisory service consistent with this Act with respect to International qualifications.”
Through the Directorate of International Qualifications Evaluations and Advisory Services (DIQEAS), SAQA carries out this responsibility. The activity of DIQEAS contributes to localizing the meaning of international qualifications and connecting them to NQF levels so that holders of those qualifications can take advantage of employment and educational possibilities in South Africa.
